I believe art is to be shared. I have gained so much from others sharing their art experiences and knowledge, I thought this blog would be a great way for me to give something back. Please be reminded that the photo colors may slightly vary due to a digital camera's results and depending on your monitor. I do retain the reproduction rights to this artwork.

Daily Painting Practice - 30 Self Portraits in 30 Days - Day 8
Very busy today. We had my daughter's graduation from college and lots of friends and family staying over. So, I only had time for a quick pencil sketch.
It is a funny thing, I think I am saving a lot of time by sketching, but I end up almost spending the same amount of time as when I paint. This is a great exercise at staying loose though. I highly recommend it. Don't think about anything looking finished just sketch and stop.

This one is very nice Peter, I'm enjoying the series, whilst being glad I'm not doing it myself!!
Very nice sketch. Are you drawing from a photo or do you have multiple mirrors?
Thanks Julian- I think you could pull it off nicely, but I would miss all of those beautiful landscapes and daily still life paintings you paint for the 30 days.
WR & Lisa - So far these have all been from photos. I hope to get some directly from a mirror before this is all over .
