I love Nova Scotia. I could paint there for several lifetimes. Living in Omaha, Nebraska is quite a world away from Nova Scotia, but I can go there anytime by sitting in my studio and painting.
Here is a new painting I am just beginning to work on.
When I start adding more color, the boats seem to take on their own personality. It's almost like painting people.
Speaking of painting people... I finally finished my tribute to Rosenblatt Stadium. No wonder I needed to escape to Nova Scotia. This baseball painting may be the longest I have ever worked on a single painting.
My next adventure is to explore how to make prints of it.... Wait , that means I'm not done with it yet!!
Hooray! That came out nice, Peter. The hard part of finishing is over. ;) I just got back from my vacation on Cape Cod. It was fun to be at the beach but always good to be back in the Midwest.
I have been reading your blog for a while now...It is inspiring to see what your are working on, and following your commitment to the "30 self portraits" was great. I live in Nova Scotia so I just had to comment after this last post--thanks for sharing your work!
Love your work! I lived in Bellevue, NE for about 3 years when I was younger and I just loved Omaha; however, I don't think I could give up living near the ocean now that I'm living back in Maine. Have you ever done paintings of the coast of Maine...just curious?
I very much appreciate the dry dock boats..I'll be watching to see where it goes...
Really it is inspiring to see what your are working on...Great talent you have..
