daily painting practice- Cowboy Dave

Back in October, I posted the (work in progress photos) of Cowboy Dave.

I finally got around to finishing it. I will trim it back to 14"x14". Here are a few details and the final.

My favorite part is my reflection in the gold watch. How vain is that?

This is a studio piece that will be for sale at my show at the (So-Oh Gallery) in September.

This is fantastic. I love the reflection on the watch. (Is it you?) You have really outdone yourself with this from the composition all the way through.

Wow! A very fun piece, and yes the reflection is the cherry on top. Love to see that you consistently work from life.

I wouldn't call it vanity, just mastery.
There is usually one area in my paintings that I favor for it's subtlety. Like that reflection.
Love looking at the process.

The reflection is incredible, and adds so much to an already "swell" painting. good luck with your show

So cool, Peter. I hadn't looked at your blog for a while.
I'm guessing those musical notes took a bit of time. I love the 'cowboy dave' graphics...so nostalgic and the SP in the pocket watch, Awesome!!
