Daily Painting Practice - Artist at Work

Since I am now a baby sitting Grandpa three days a week my plein air adventures are going to have to be limited to Monday and Tuesday (and weekends if I can sneak out)
So I'll keep my daily painting practice going with figuratives, still life and larger studio pieces. This small figurative started with a guy at a bus stop.
I got a little ahead of myself and signed it too soon. I thought the expression on his face warranted a story. So I made one up to go with it.

I could have named this Concentration and Bi-focals but Artist at Work seemed a better title.

It's interesting to me how you began this portrait with the lights instead of the darks. He really does look like an artist at work. Very nice.

'72nd street in the rain' is FABULOUS! Wow.

Hello Peter,
I like very much your work particularly your still-lifes and landscapes. I like your pallette and the way in which you talk about your art: with enthusiasm and humility. It is well. Best wishes for the future.

Thanks Silvina - starting work on a darker pre-toned back ground allows me to start with the lights. It is a fun way to get started fast.

Helene-Thank you for your kind words. Your watercolor work is beautiful.

Carol-
WOW, two comments from France in one day. Hope you are enjoying Paris.
