Daily Painting Practice - 30 self portraits in roughly 30 Days

I decided to officially rename this exercise "30 Self Portraits in Roughly 30 Days" because I missed another day. Who knows, by the time I am finished I might be up to 30 self portraits in a few weeks more than 30 days.

I did manage to photograph a few preliminary stages.
I had some high expectations of this one at this stage but then I ran out of time, energy and desire to do more.

We are half way through the 30 days and today is a good lesson in dealing with the frustration of not always being able to meet your own expectations. It's important to keep in mind the good things about this type of painting practice. Sometimes you get real gems and other times it's nothing but struggle and a quick search for the nearest trash bin. Keep going, and remember even Rembrandt had some real losers. In the end you will have 30 paintings and I bet at least a few that are keepers.

Is your interest flagging? I hope not! Great work.....it is so interesting! I certainly like the attempt at bold expression--like Rembrandt and that "surprised" one. I hope you keep going!
