In Maine cold weather doesn't stop plein air painters .... or explorers.
Yesterday we painted in Acadia National Park at Sand Beech. It was a cold day but we were bathed in bright sunlight. Even at 20 degrees some people like to lay on the beach, while others explored the rocks.
My daughter wrapped herself up in my painting jacket, pants and hat and did a trial run with her homemade pochade box.
I did a very quick study because there was only so much time to paint before I was summoned to play in the rocks too.
