Just off the easel this morning!
I began this as a plein air painting, (one of my largest attempts) but just couldn't finish it in the field. I really enjoy painting these boats out of the water as much as the ones I paint in the water. This was at the Front Street Boatyard in Belfast, Maine. They always have a lot of repairs going on so I can easily find something to paint.

The variety of reds and oranges attracted me to the scene plus the abstract patterns of the color patches. Most enjoyable painting.
