Snow Melt
original by Peter Yesis
9"x12"
oil on canvas board

One last painting of the outdoors before spring. This is the lane right next to my house. That is our white picket fence and you can see the roof of our (little blue shed) I painted last year. Hopefully this is the last of the snow. I am ready for some warmer days and some spring green. And soon flowers!

Thanks Cara - Warm weather and my garden. It doesn't get any better.

Interesting to see how you
focused on to those fuse box (?)
on top of that pole.

What kind of blue did you used here?

Hello Rene-
That thing on top of the pole is called a transformer. I like how it sits on the pole and the wires and other poles bring your eyes to it.

I used a mix of cerulean blue and some cobalt blue. Closer to the horizon I lightened it just a touch adding a little white and naples yellow. But just a very small amount otherwise it turns a pasty color. The board was pre-toned the color of the roofs seen on the left.
