Tuesday Outing with the Plein Air Painters of Maine Northern Chapter
Last Tuesday I traveled at the invitation of Alison Dibble for a wonderful day painting the local color of Brooklin Maine. Alison had suggested two sites that proved to be worth the effort to stay warm.

Boats at low tide in Brooklin Maine |
It was a cold day to paint but luckily we were protected from the wind by the trees.

Quick beginning |
With the tide going out I had plenty of time to paint these boats on the beach.
The natural colors were so beautifully blended. Nature has a wonderful way of balancing color. The blue boat was the perfect accent color for all that.

Here's how I ended the morning.
After a wonderful (and warm) fish chowder lunch graciously provided by Alison. We headed to our second sight, the mud flats at Salt Pond.

Alison Dibble painting at Salt Pond in Brooklin Maine |
That's Alison bundled up and painting. I left my paint tubes in my truck and of course I ran out of some colors on the palette near the end of my attempt here. I took that as a sign that it was time to be heading home.
Brooklin is a beautiful area to paint and I will certainly be back.
