Daily Painting Practice in Maine - Sears Island snow

99 percent complete!

Well, I didn't make my goal of finishing the painting last Friday.. Did we really think I would?  I have my excuses all lined up for you to review.  First, I have been plowing the 14 inches of  new snow that fell on us. Second, my truck died on me and had to be repaired. Third, I started on a new project around the house. OK, I admit those are some pretty lame excuses.

I also signed up for the (Stapleton Kearns) "Snowcamp" painting workshop next month. Talk about being excited!!! Stapleton Kearns is one of my favorite contemporary painters.
I started packing my supplies already and I ordered a new pair of snow boots, the kind he recommends for the class. There will be no excuses for being too cold now. We will be painting  snow scenes in Vermont  for 3 days... I'll be sure to take plenty of photos and report all the news after January 21.

In the mean time , here is the  painting I have been working on at 99% complete.

Nice painting; do write about Stape's workshop afterwards, we would love to hear your observations. I took Stape's warmer weather workshop a couple of years ago, still trying to process it.

So envious! I've been wanting to go to his snowcamp since I first heard about it last year.I've been enjoying your paintings since this challenge started.

This is really beautiful. It portrays a strong sense of weather. It looks 100% finished to me.
